Week 1 of Module 302 kicked off with the lecture “Sell as you sleep”. This lecture focussed on designing products and selling them on the internet, being able to sell 24/7 and not even having to be awake.

To start we briefly looked at the module deliverables which included designing and creating a digital product which could be ‘sold’ online, whether that be free, freemium* or a paid product.

We looked at the use of no code tools to aid us in creating products in the future, as coding is not a passion of mine these seemed to make the process a lot easier, quicker and efficient compared to the process of coding a full website from scratch in html and css.

We were shown some examples of products that could be created, which then gave us inspiration for our products, being given the task to create anything and make it great. Examples included, UI/UX kits which save designers a lot of time for little cost, digital cards, ebooks and downloadable packs such as icons. After looking at examples we looked at the possible commercial opportunities that could come from these products and how students in the past have created businesses during university and now have it as their full time jobs. Another area that we looked at was market research, who do you want to sell to? what market am i selling in? is my product bringing something new to the table?

Final remarks in the lecture were to research ideas and upload three to tumblr, including details such as
