To take the mood board research forward, I broke down the two routes of which I could take this project, traditional Sherlock and modern Sherlock. Breaking down this information will allow me to understand which route I want to take and where I will take this project. Both of these aspects will include using completely different elements and colours.

The traditional style will include bordering and bold complex typography - the style people stereotype with the standard Sherlock look. I will use warm colours to create the aged look within the work and use realistic illustrations and imagery to create this style. Within this area there are options to present the content in a different format such as a newspaper or police report.

The modern style allows experimentation with the style as there is no stereotype associated. For this I will use colder colours such as blue green and navy, the illustration style would be modern built of laying shapes or icons together to build images. There is a possibility to take this project back to the basics of dot line and plane. The simple typography will allow the illustrations to stand out and allow animations across the pages to control content viewing.

Personally, the flexibility of the modern style appeals to me but I will research into complex illustration styles and move on from there to make my decision on the route I will take.
